I am a small USDA breeder located in Minnesota. I breed for the joy of being able to give people friendly, healthy, beautiful joeys. I have a small number of animals, so you may need to wait for a joey, especially if you have a specific coloration that you desire. All of my joeys are handled daily, and they will be friendly and social when they leave my home. Each of my gliders is listed on the pet glider pedigree database by their name followed by "- tsp sugar" , and I list each joey as soon as they come OOP. I am more than happy to talk to anyone about adopting a glider, or any questions you may have about glider ownership, or about my breeding operation.
If you are local and wish to see my gliders, I would be more than happy to set up a time for you to meet myself, my gliders, and my current joeys. My contact information is listed on my "about me" page.
I do require a contract for adoption of any of my gliders. This includes a health guarantee to protect the buyer as well as stipulations that insure that the gliders will always be well-cared for by the new owner.
Teaspoon of Sugar is MOVING! Our site is going to change dramatically, still the same light blue in the background, but a new logo and a redesigned site.
Feel free to peek at my beautiful gliders and my nursery. I am more than happy to answer any questions. If you are looking for a specific color, let me know and I can put you on my waiting list. I will be producing grey, WF, leucistic, mosaic, creamino, platinum, and hets for creamino, leucistic, and platinum.
I made the decision to get a brokers license instead of just a breeder's license. This will allow me to transport and handle transactions that do not directly involve me without creating trouble. It also allows me to ship gliders that are not my own. I do not plan to do any regular activities that classify under a broker (profiting from buying and selling) but I do plan to be the "middle man" in finding mates for the joeys I sell when I don't have a suitable cagemate available.
This is not a complete list, however, I am continually working on making it more complete. You are responsible for determining if it is legal to own gliders where you live:
Illegal states: Alaska, California, Hawaii, and Massachusetts.
States with Requirements:
Georgia requires that the seller be USDA licensed, and I am able to sell to Georgia:
New Mexico- Need a special permit, Sugar gliders are in group 2 and still classified as "non-domestic" as outlined in this document:
New Jersey - Needs a permit, as listed on page 2: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pdf/permregs.pdf
Pennsylvania - previous information says illegal, but currently there is work being done to change that... I will not sell to PA residents until that legislation passes.
I will only sell to individual who have a permit in those states listed above.
City and County restrictions:
All other states are legal, HOWEVER, there are counties and cities within those states that do not allow sugar gliders, I am adding cities and counties as I hear of them, however, this is not a complete list.
